Why am I receiving a bill from EnerCare Solutions?

Effective January 1, 2011, The Consumers’ Waterheater Operating Trust (“Consumers’”) became EnerCare Solutions Inc.

What does this name change mean to you?

Everything you have come to expect will remain the same:

  • Your account number
  • The way you pay your bill (phone, credit card, cheque* or on-line banking*)
  • The excellent level of service that you currently receive
  • All terms of your rental water heater contract

Previously to the transition to EnerCare, your utility decided to sell its water heater rental business in a move to streamline operations and help focus on their core business - electricity and gas distribution.

The utility attempted to reach all impacted customers through a bill message or insert. At this time, you would have received a letter from EnerCare Solutions advising of this transaction, which included the Terms & Conditions related to your rental and a sticker with our toll free service line to be placed on your water heater. If you check your water heater and notice you do not have an EnerCare Solutions sticker, please contact us and we will expedite another one to your attention.

The transition of billing your water heater rental charges to EnerCare Solutions from your local utility was completed as of the following date:

  • May 1, 2008 - transition from Toronto Hydro Utility bill to Enbridge Bill
     
  • March 1, 2009 - transition from Festival Hydro Utility bill
     
  • May 1, 2009 - transition from Thunder Bay Hydro Utility bill
     
  • Jan 1, 2011- transition from Consumers’ bill to EnerCare Solutions bill

As of these dates, you would have noticed no further water heater rental charges appearing on your Utility bill.
