What is a Sump Pump?

In many residential areas where flooding is common, sump pumps are installed in the lowest level of the home to pump out excess water beneath your home or water table. The sump pump minimizes the chances of water damage to your home and is an excellent way to protect your property from flooding.

What is a Weeping Tile?

A weeping tile collects underground water using pipes with slits inside it. These slits gather and releases underground water into a main sewer line.

Since weeping tiles are costly and difficult to replace, homeowners with weeping tiles installed may qualify for larger rebates. Check with your city to learn more about eligible rebates.

Installing or repairing a backwater valve, sump pump or weeping tiles helps prevent water from entering your home, but there are other factors that can potentially cause flooding and water damage to your home. It’s important to have a qualified and licensed plumber complete a thorough inspection of your property to ensure your house is safe from damage.
