When should you get your ducts cleaned?

Consider duct cleaning if you have:

  • A musty/burning smell when you turn on your furnace for the first time
  • Family members with allergies or asthma
  • Pets, young children, or several people living under one roof
  • Recently moved into a new home or completed renovations
  • Or recently installed a new furnace or central air conditioner

Maintaining indoor air quality is essential to a healthy home. Even though you can’t see what’s hiding inside your ducts, they could be housing things like mould, fungus, pet hair, construction debris, food, small toys and other debris.

As a result, the air you’re inhaling at home could be unclean, and the dirt and dust will restrict your HVAC system from working efficiently. This restriction may cause you to use more energy to heat or cool your home.

How often should furnace ducts be cleaned?

A thorough cleaning by Enercare lasts up to 5 years (some competitors’ services last only 12 months).

Why is duct cleaning important?

Ducts can be a collection source for dirt, dust, mould, pollen and pet dander that can make allergy symptoms worse. Enercare’s duct cleaning helps remove these allergy-aggravating contaminants. Heavily soiled ducts can cause your HVAC equipment to not work efficiently which could cause you to use more energy to heat and cool your home.

How do we clean furnace ducts?

An 8” suction hose is secured into place and high-pressure air is blown into individual supply vents. Our duct cleaning trucks move 25,000 cu. ft. of air per minute to clear out dust and debris. The dust and debris travel towards the main ducts and the suction hose removes the dirt. The same procedure is done on the return side. We remove on average 5-6 lbs of dust and dirt. Once the dirt is removed, we use 100% natural antibacterial spray throughout the ducts to kill any bacteria, mould or fungal spores. Duct cleaning can take between 1½ to 2½ hours on average but could take longer depending on how dirty your ducts are and how many ducts you have.

Do you have a guarantee for your duct cleaning service?

Yes, our services come with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee**

How dirty ducts affect furnace efficiency

Dirty ventilation systems can lead to clogged air conditioner coils and furnace filters as well as contaminated blower wheels that could result in a breakdown.

How much does a duct cleaning cost?

A typical duct cleaning can start from $500 depending on how many vents you have. Give us a call at 1-855-255-5458 to get a free price quote or fill out the price quote form.

Enercare has flexible payment options including the Enbridge bill, Visa, Mastercard, American Express or cheque for one-time payments. We also offer 12 equal payments1 over 12 months with no interest on the Enbridge bill.
