Moving – Important Information About Your Plans & Rentals


Maintenance and Protection Plans

To ensure uninterrupted coverage, your Enercare plan(s) will move with you to your new address, provided your new address is within our service area. Your plan(s) will be cancelled at your old address and new 12-month plan(s) will be created at your new address, effective as of your possession date.

You may see charges for the cancellation of the plan(s) at your old address, but you will receive an equal credit on the first or second bill once the plan(s) is transferred to your new address.

If your new address is not in our service area, the plan(s) will be cancelled in accordance with the terms and conditions of the plan(s) and you may incur a one-time charge equivalent to the remaining time owing under your plan agreement(s).

Please note: Extended Protection Plans are not transferable and will terminate upon your move.

Rental Equipment

You will remain responsible for all Enercare rental equipment installed at the premises, including all rental payments, until the rental agreement is transferred or terminated in accordance with its terms and conditions.

To transfer the rental agreement, you must inform the purchaser or transferee that the rental equipment is subject to a rental agreement with Enercare and the purchaser or transferee must agree to assume your obligations under the rental agreement.

If you are the homeowner and have disclosed your Enercare rental equipment in the Agreement of Purchase and Sale (APS) for the sale of the property, please include a copy of the APS with this move request so we can process the transfer of the rental agreement. You confirm that you have informed the purchaser or transferee that you are providing the APS to Enercare to establish and manage the rental agreement. Further, you confirm that you have read and advised the purchaser or transferee of Enercare’s Privacy Policy.

If your APS does not disclose the rental equipment or if the purchaser or transferee does not sign an Assumption Agreement, you will continue to be responsible for all obligations under the rental agreement, including payment of all rental payments and payment of the buyout price for the equipment in the event the rental agreement is terminated.
