What Is a Protection Plan?

A protection plan is repair coverage for your HVAC equipment. It’s like an insurance plan for your furnace, air conditioner or boiler. If your equipment breaks down, the parts and labour for repairs are covered.*

At Enercare, we recommend protecting your HVAC equipment with a protection plan starting after the unit has been in use for seven years. The unit should be protected up to 15 years of age, after which we recommend replacing the equipment.

How is a Protection Plan Different Than a Maintenance Plan?

An annual maintenance plan has one of our technicians come to your home to look over your covered equipment. With rising energy costs making energy efficiency more important every day, these maintenance checks can help identify potential problems before they become costly breakdowns. The technician will also check for carbon monoxide leaks.

The TSSA suggests that these checks be done annually.

*Certain exceptions apply. See Terms and Conditions at enercare.ca/terms. †Available to Enercare’s heating/cooling protection plan customers, rental water heater customers and/or rental HVAC customers whose equipment is not operational (i.e. – no hot water, no cooling or no heat). On average, Enercare attends to non-operational water heater, heating and cooling calls 90% of the time the same day. Subject to exclusions in accordance with the Plan Terms and Conditions or Rental Agreement.

**Monthly fees automatically increase after the first twelve (12) months. Must sign up for a one-year commitment, regardless of the method of payment, and protection plan will be automatically renewed by Enercare Home and Commercial Services Limited Partnership on a yearly basis. You may cancel your protection plan without penalty by providing notice prior to your protection plan renewal date.
