Why do I need to test my Furnace?

  • Like many household appliances, your furnace can wear down with age. Since your furnace has not been used for three or four months there could be potential problems. But by testing your furnace before the winter hits, you give yourself plenty of time to address any concerns or schedule repairs.

How do I test my Furnace?

  • To test your furnace, simply wait until it’s cool outside, turn up your thermostat and turn on the heat for about 20 minutes. If your home is heating and you don’t hear any strange noises, your furnace is probably in good shape.

How can I fix my Furnace if a problem occurs?

  • Furnaces are complicated to diagnose, and they can be dangerous to repair. Your best option is to call a licensed professional. The technician will let you know if your furnace can be repaired, or if you need to replace the whole unit.

Do I need to clean my ducts when installing a new Furnace?

  • Cleaning your air ducts when repairing your furnace isn’t required, but we do recommend air duct cleanings every four years. If you’re installing a new unit, it’s the perfect time to make sure you’re breathing in fresh, clean air.
