What contaminants do each of the filters reduce?
Pre-Filter – reduces dirt, sand, and other suspended solids. Carbon Filter #1 – reduces bad taste, odour, and chlorine. Carbon Filter #2 – provides a final polishing to the water reducing any leftover dirt and suspended solids. Reverse Osmosis Membrane – reduces total dissolved solids, chemicals, and heavy metals.

How do I know which filter goes into which slot?
Each filter will have both an Enercare sticker indicating which filter it is, as well as the name of the filter on the twist handle. From there, simply identify which is the identical filter in the unit and replace the filter.
